Dallas murder suspect arrested after high-speed pursuit through Kaufman County

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Dallas murder suspect led police on a high-speed pursuit from Dallas County, through Kaufman County, and into Van Zandt County before being apprehended early Saturday morning, March 28, 2015.
At approximately 4:18 a.m., on Saturday morning, March 28, 2015, 35-year-old Timothy Green entered a residence in the 6400 block of Cinnamon Oaks Drive in Dallas, Texas, for an alleged robbery and shot 39-year-old Christepher Mosley, according to a Dallas Police Department arrest affidavit.

Mosley was taken to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, in critical condition where he later died.

While officers were responding to the shooting call on Cinnamon Oaks Drive, two other police officers performed a traffic stop on Green who was reportedly speeding a mile from the shooting location. During the traffic investigation, officers learned a man fitting Green’s description had stolen a blue Ford F-150 from the shooting location. Green then fled from police.

The pursuit hit speeds of approximately 100 miles per hour as it entered Kaufman County on Interstate-20. The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office and the Terrell Police Department assisted in the pursuit by staging along I-20 with spike strips.

The pursuit continued into Van Zandt County where the truck came to a stop on I-20 near the County Road 2116/County Road 3416 overpass south of Wills Point, Texas. The Dallas Police Department took the suspect into custody without further incident.

During the pursuit, police say Green tossed a handgun and several bags of marijuana from the vehicle which was later recovered by the Dallas Police Department. Police also seized Mosley’s wallet and other personal belongings from Green’s pant pockets.

Green was taken to the Dallas Police Department headquarters where police say he admitted to killing Mosley and stealing his truck. Dallas police charged Green with capital murder, evading arrest with a vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance. Green is being held at the Dallas County Jail on a $500,000 bond for capital murder.
