20:20-- yesitsme: yea
20:21-- Longtimer: My confusion in this is that if he's such a shady guy, how the hell did he get a fundraiser. I guess it's just the sob story with no background check?
20:22-- yesitsme: I would say.
20:22-- Longtimer: maybe Chikfila mgr will rethink that after no one comes to buy anything?
20:22-- yesitsme: But.. even if there is a criminal record does that mean he can't have a fundraiser for an illness?
20:22-- yesitsme: It's done... wasn't that this past Monday?
20:22-- yesitsme: I'd just let the whole matta drop
20:23-- Longtimer: it was on the 20th and it was before that when i was asking
20:23-- yesitsme: true
20:24-- Longtimer: just my curiosity and confusion kept it going. I will move on...... (dam you tellin me to shut up & go away) hahahaa
20:24-- yesitsme: hah. I didn't mean YOU really. Just.. in general.
20:25-- yesitsme: Hey even 'bad' Bikers have fundraisers... usually at their watering hole
20:27-- yesitsme: It is what it is. I can see where the fam needed a little help, regardless of the guy.
20:29-- yesitsme: now shut up & go away. :P
20:45-- BAShaun: I have abackground check app on my phone as well and it shows related people and past addresses. Brandi, his wife is shown, and it shows him to have lived in many cities, including Forney.
20:46-- BAShaun: I doubt chik fil a does background checks on everyone they do a fundraiser for
21:54-- Gonzo: Man, you guys are obsessing over that Lester deal
22:35-- yesitsme: Don't say "you guys" .. I am certainly not. Whatever I put here today has been the extent of it - and it was brief.
23:05-- l8nighter: makes the default by forney and the pate lawsuit more understandable.... resulted in more money to forney and faster bond repayment.
23:06-- l8nighter: its also funny how much obama admins hate the first and second amendments, but boy oh boy, they love that fifth amendment
23:41-- yesitsme: So.. tell me if this is right. The lawsuit cost us about $800k.. now, minus the extra $500k, the cost to us is about $300k - so far - to get rid of Pate?
23:42-- yesitsme: ... and that doesn't even consider the earlier tax savings to citizens.
0:42-- l8nighter: sounds right, and dont forget the savings in interest payments on the bonds also, not sure how much that will be.... and that would just apply to this partial payment received.
0:43-- l8nighter: i guess the 800k was a well calculated move to make pate go away so the project could get finished earlier, get the bonuses, and pay off bonds early to save on interest
0:44-- l8nighter: its like the old saying, you dont pay a prostitute for sex, you pay her to go away after sex....
0:48-- yesitsme: I am not touchin' that
4:14-- Gonzo: You guys are exactly right.
4:15-- Gonzo: The breach of contract with Pate was calculated. It was a good move because the city found out they could get it done faster, amongst other things, and thus it was calculated to, in the end, not cost the city a thing and we would actually "make" money on this deal.
4:19-- yesitsme: But boy did it make some people howl!
11:33-- AveryRealtyGroup: Is this the same Lester the molester pastor of Jesus extraordinaire? Trm I promise I'm not a thief and I can get your home on the sites that really matter. :lolcry:
11:33-- AveryRealtyGroup: Whoops was supposed to go on the thread
11:35-- AveryRealtyGroup: on the pâté thing that's great about saving money getting rid of them what no one in an official capacity seems to want to give a straight answer on is why they were chosen in the first place
16:40-- yesitsme: they seemed a likely choice.. they were versed in, and doing Pass Through Toll projects in other locals.
16:41-- yesitsme: (... and pate'; is a paste with cooked ground meat and fat)
16:43-- yesitsme: Back to Pate: Why? Did you actually ASK an official that?
17:40-- DebbieKay: Forney City Park's Splash Pad opens Friday the 24th at Noon.
17:40-- DebbieKay: Sorry, I can't remember who was asking about this.
17:50-- yesitsme: Somebody on Facebook did
17:53-- yesitsme: It feels like a Friday up in here..... Are a bunch of you'ns off work tomorrow? AND Monday?
17:54-- yesitsme: Meanwhile; I got this thing that amused me. (Sorry, I have to link the article because I couldn't find a direct link to just the vid).. http://www.webpronews.com/morgan-freeman-falls-asleep-during-live-tv-interview-2013-05
17:55-- yesitsme: It cracked me up! .. He is 72 though... and really I think it was Michael Caine that put him to sleep -- he does me!
17:58-- yesitsme: [o.. it says he's 75 in there.. well, exact age depends on where you read]
18:00-- yesitsme: ... Lastly, I don't think there's too many gamer geeks in here; but what do YOU think of the new -just revealed on Tuesday- Xbox One?
18:06-- yesitsme: My opinion is; NO. Don't get one. And, it has to stay 'on' all the time - and it 'watches you' - all the time.
18:06-- yesitsme: Creepy.
18:08-- yesitsme: It doesn't have a lot (or anything except controller improvements) that people actually wanted
18:46-- DebbieKay: Uh, huh, and how would you know if it was someone on FB, miss YIM??? You got some 'splainin' to do gf :P
18:47-- DebbieKay: I'm off tomorrow and Monday. jajaja Only 2 weeks left of school. yippeeeeee
18:48-- yesitsme: Haha.. It was a guess. I don't remember anyone here asking that. Yay for you and lots with a 4 day weekend this week. That's a mini-vaca
18:51-- DebbieKay: I can relate to Morgan freeman. I do that in church sometimes. LOL
18:51-- DebbieKay: And the movies. heck anywhere I have to sit still it happens.
18:52-- DebbieKay: Speaking of naps. I want one now.
19:20-- yesitsme: Get one. At your desk -- or wherever. I'm pro at it. Morgan did it LIVE ON Tv THOUGH! That's the diff!
19:20-- yesitsme: It was probably his like 50th interview for the new movie................ bored w it.
19:30-- l8nighter: i can fall asleep anywhere, any time
19:31-- l8nighter: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.........................
21:44-- DebbieKay: Ok, so I'm watching the oldies channel again and in one of the scenes from Emergency! I notice as they pass by a gas station the price of a gallon of gas was $0.48 a gallon. The show was filmed in 1976.
21:46-- DebbieKay: I was paying 9X that much two weeks ago in California
21:47-- DebbieKay: What a difference 37 years makes. What will it be like 37 years from now???

Ok, I am going to have to confess. I think Madres is terrible, too! I have just kept my mouth shut about it for years because it seemed like everybody in went there and loved it. I just thought I was weird. Well, I am but apparently a few agree with me.

You do need to consider that Ranger gets all excited about press box food. I mean, the kid thinks he is at Del Frisco's when the press box has Sonic or Chicken Express.

Madres isn't horrible. Wife likes it better than I do, but it is tolerable. La Hacienda is in a forgettable location and I don't know anyone who has ever recommended it to me in person, so it isn't top of mind. I have never had a friend say, post or otherwise communicate, "Hey, we are going to La Hacienda tonight/this afternoon. Why don't you guys meet us there?" Las Trojas' salsa was better than Madres, any day. There is no heat in Madres salsa AT ALL. That is is part of why I am not a huge fan, but I can't say they are just terrible. The salsa has never reminded me of ketchup either. I do think that statement is ridiculous.

Christina's doesn't impress me, especially for the price.

Been to Madres a few times and don't care for it. IMO the food is pretty bland and the service was bad every time so I doubtful I will go back.

Have never tried La Hacienda. Never really noticed it was there and no one has ever recommended it to me either. Would not mind trying it if I remember it is there.

We haven't been to La Hacienda yet...My wife LOVES Madres.

Enough room for a MeetnGreet, I think that would be perfect seeing as not many have been to La Hacienda? Thoughts?

I would not recommend it for a meet and greet, nor is it the type of place a group of people would meet and hang out. It is small, has two tables in center that might accommodate 8 people each, the rest of the booths are small and affixed to wall. Think Dairy Queen interior. And no beer.

But it is the type of place that you may want to consider when driving home from work hungry at 7:30 and wanting some no hassle mexican food to-go or a place to go eat with a friend when you don't want to deal with the larger places.

I've been to La Hacienda three times, twice when it was at the old location and once at the new. The food was good the first time, okay the second, and bland the last. I've had the gorditas, the enchiladas and I can't remember what the third dish was. The salsa was okay each time.

My main issue with La Hacienda was with the tea. It was weak the first two times, but the third time I could only describe it as rancid. It may have been right when the water turned over last year, but I could actually taste dirt. It turned my stomach and I haven't been back since.

Madre's is good for a quick fix. I'm not sold on Cristina's (I think it's too expensive for what you get), and I like Rio Lerma (especially if you add lime to their rice. Tasty!). I miss Los Trojas and their salsa.
