23:41-- yesitsme: So.. tell me if this is right. The lawsuit cost us about $800k.. now, minus the extra $500k, the cost to us is about $300k - so far - to get rid of Pate?
23:42-- yesitsme: ... and that doesn't even consider the earlier tax savings to citizens.
0:42-- l8nighter: sounds right, and dont forget the savings in interest payments on the bonds also, not sure how much that will be.... and that would just apply to this partial payment received.
0:43-- l8nighter: i guess the 800k was a well calculated move to make pate go away so the project could get finished earlier, get the bonuses, and pay off bonds early to save on interest
0:44-- l8nighter: its like the old saying, you dont pay a prostitute for sex, you pay her to go away after sex....
0:48-- yesitsme: I am not touchin' that
4:14-- Gonzo: You guys are exactly right.
4:15-- Gonzo: The breach of contract with Pate was calculated. It was a good move because the city found out they could get it done faster, amongst other things, and thus it was calculated to, in the end, not cost the city a thing and we would actually "make" money on this deal.
4:19-- yesitsme: But boy did it make some people howl!
11:33-- AveryRealtyGroup: Is this the same Lester the molester pastor of Jesus extraordinaire? Trm I promise I'm not a thief and I can get your home on the sites that really matter. :lolcry:
11:33-- AveryRealtyGroup: Whoops was supposed to go on the thread
11:35-- AveryRealtyGroup: on the pâté thing that's great about saving money getting rid of them what no one in an official capacity seems to want to give a straight answer on is why they were chosen in the first place
16:40-- yesitsme: they seemed a likely choice.. they were versed in, and doing Pass Through Toll projects in other locals.
16:41-- yesitsme: (... and pate'; is a paste with cooked ground meat and fat)
16:43-- yesitsme: Back to Pate: Why? Did you actually ASK an official that?
17:40-- DebbieKay: Forney City Park's Splash Pad opens Friday the 24th at Noon.
17:40-- DebbieKay: Sorry, I can't remember who was asking about this.
17:50-- yesitsme: Somebody on Facebook did
17:53-- yesitsme: It feels like a Friday up in here..... Are a bunch of you'ns off work tomorrow? AND Monday?
17:54-- yesitsme: Meanwhile; I got this thing that amused me. (Sorry, I have to link the article because I couldn't find a direct link to just the vid).. http://www.webpronews.com/morgan-freeman-falls-asleep-during-live-tv-interview-2013-05
17:55-- yesitsme: It cracked me up! .. He is 72 though... and really I think it was Michael Caine that put him to sleep -- he does me!
17:58-- yesitsme: [o.. it says he's 75 in there.. well, exact age depends on where you read]
18:00-- yesitsme: ... Lastly, I don't think there's too many gamer geeks in here; but what do YOU think of the new -just revealed on Tuesday- Xbox One?
18:06-- yesitsme: My opinion is; NO. Don't get one. And, it has to stay 'on' all the time - and it 'watches you' - all the time.
18:06-- yesitsme: Creepy.
18:08-- yesitsme: It doesn't have a lot (or anything except controller improvements) that people actually wanted
18:46-- DebbieKay: Uh, huh, and how would you know if it was someone on FB, miss YIM??? You got some 'splainin' to do gf :P
18:47-- DebbieKay: I'm off tomorrow and Monday. jajaja Only 2 weeks left of school. yippeeeeee
18:48-- yesitsme: Haha.. It was a guess. I don't remember anyone here asking that. Yay for you and lots with a 4 day weekend this week. That's a mini-vaca
18:51-- DebbieKay: I can relate to Morgan freeman. I do that in church sometimes. LOL
18:51-- DebbieKay: And the movies. heck anywhere I have to sit still it happens.
18:52-- DebbieKay: Speaking of naps. I want one now.
19:20-- yesitsme: Get one. At your desk -- or wherever. I'm pro at it. Morgan did it LIVE ON Tv THOUGH! That's the diff!
19:20-- yesitsme: It was probably his like 50th interview for the new movie................ bored w it.
19:30-- l8nighter: i can fall asleep anywhere, any time
19:31-- l8nighter: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.........................
21:44-- DebbieKay: Ok, so I'm watching the oldies channel again and in one of the scenes from Emergency! I notice as they pass by a gas station the price of a gallon of gas was $0.48 a gallon. The show was filmed in 1976.
21:46-- DebbieKay: I was paying 9X that much two weeks ago in California
21:47-- DebbieKay: What a difference 37 years makes. What will it be like 37 years from now???
16:02-- yesitsme: X9 again; $38.88 per gallon.
16:02-- yesitsme: (in California)
16:05-- yesitsme: Did y'all know we got news up yesterday on a delay for the Kroger here?
16:05-- yesitsme: :(
20:47-- yesitsme: I wasn't gonna look. But then I did.. and it was worth it! OMG! #1; Needs dress that fits. #2; ROFLMAO at the 70's ugliness, and I had seen the Star Wars wedding before. Most of the rest are just; WTH? .. or be glad you weren't in that wedding, or pure cheesy photography of all time.
20:50-- yesitsme: [RE #1; some churches WILL NOT marry you in a dress like that]
21:30-- Longtimer: baptist? Catholic=OK?
21:33-- yesitsme: Nope.
21:33-- yesitsme: eh, depends on pastor or priest ya know
21:33-- Longtimer: Do I need to google some pics to prove ya wrong? haha
21:34-- yesitsme: would ya? Hahahah. nooooo that's ok
21:35-- Longtimer: yeah, depends on the priest of the community I thought.......I have seeeeeeen some well equipped future Moms walking down the isle in Church before.
21:35-- yesitsme: yea it does. All ours don't even want 'spaghetti strap' shirts in church.
21:36-- Longtimer: all their splendor & glory... the right one names splendor and the left one named glory
21:36-- yesitsme: hahah
21:40-- yesitsme: I'ma gonna remember that
1:53-- Longtimer: YIM, I'm still waiting on my deserved a-chewing for posting in the wrong category. I thought BSA flag thing went into chit chat and not welcome mat.
4:19-- yesitsme: How dare you? ... Bah!
4:20-- yesitsme: I give up. People are gonna put random crap in Welcome Mat no matter what.

Can it be THAT good?
There must be some educational value to it? (Besides just getting kids to READ more.)

I looked up the author. I know what it is now! She got the Scholastic company behind her.
That explains everything w the school involvement.
It's too hot - or cold - or mild ... outside

O M G....my 15 year old who HATES to read is on the couch reading Hunger Games instead of playing his XBOX. I have photographic evidence. Where is the fainting smiley??? He said he wants to read the book before he sees the movie. Ok, who are you and what did you do with my kid? I don't see any pods laying around.

.... that backing by Scholastic apparently also caused the author to dial down the violence in the subsequent books - essentially altering what COULD have been written.

Got an email from one of my kid's teachers....apparently there were numerous absences today which she surmised were the result of kids staying out last night and watching the midnight showing of Hunger Games.

That's the way we play it.
