Both individuals graduated from Mesquite High School and are believed to have been very close friends, sources revealed. Investigators still have not released information as to why Trimble was in the home of Buerck and what led up to the shooting.
Buerck was released the morning of the shooting after interviews with Forney Police Department detectives and the evidence in the case will be reviewed by a Kaufman County Grand Jury. The process could take a month or two before the evidence is reviewed and it is still unknown whether or not he will be required attend the grand jury.
Trimble was a former basketball player at Manhattan Christian College in Kansas. Buerck was a former football player for the Baylor University Bears as a wide receiver.
