Forney's Crosby Elementary School is the scene of hope at ceremonial tree planting
Nothing beautifies a community like trees. On Thursday, May 10, 2012, the Kaufman County Urban Forester teamed up with Texas Trees Foundation, TXU Energy, and UNFI, to plant a ceremonial tree at Crosby Elementary School in Forney. The Chinquapin oak tree was planted on campus, not far from a small tree that somehow survived the EF-3 tornado that destroyed homes in the Diamond Creek neighborhood. Many more trees are going to be planted in October.
