Most people who regularly use the toll roads in the DFW area will purchase toll tags to pay their tolls. Someone with a toll tag will pay 50 percent less than a driver that simply drives through a toll using the Zip Cash method. If a vehicle does not have a toll tag, the license plate photo is taken and is used to track down the registered owner of the vehicle so that a bill can be sent to them. Unfortunately some area residents seemed to have chosen to disregard their responsibility to pay their toll fees and now they face serious consequences for their actions. Civil lawsuits will be filed against the top violators and the NTTA is trying to get legislation passed that will allow them to keep violators from being able to renew their vehicle registrations and will boot their cars when located.
The NTTA website explained their criteria for posting a list of serious violators, “Those on the Top Toll Violators list have more than 100 outstanding tolls and have refused to pay invoices over at least 180 days.” Below is a list of the top five toll road violators living in Forney, according to the NTTA website list. (The amounts owed include late fees.)
Natasha Rufus owes $52,134.87 due to 2,765 unpaid toll road transactions.
Roxanne Garcia owes $31,834.08 for 1,260 unpaid toll road transactions.
Vick Wood owes $28,260.38 for 2,095 unpaid toll road transactions.
Lynda Webster owes $25,269.66 for 1,419 unpaid toll road transactions.
John Mazzola owes $22,377.19 for 1,285 unpaid toll road transactions.
