The Angel Tree will be located in front of the Xeric Garden at the sub-courthouse on Main Street in downtown Forney. If you would like to adopt an angel or two, all you need to do is stop by the Lions Club tent with the Christmas tree next to it and pick out your angel. Once you choose your angel, you take the angel tag to the Lions Club member sitting at the booth and they will sign you up. Please don't adopt an angel if you are not 100 percent sure you can come through with the clothes and a toy. The Lions Club members at the booth will explain when and where to drop off the clothes and toys.
Forney Boy Scouts offer great prices and fresh trees at 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Lot
The Angel Tree program is a perfect example of the generosity and kindness Forney residents display all year round. All of the children represented on the tree are Forney ISD students. The Leo Club, which is the youth version of the Lions Club, will be conducting a toy drive alongside the Angel Tree. If you would like to help, please bring a new, unwrapped toy when you visit the booth.
Also, Brookshire's “Spirit of Christmas” food drive is already underway at their store on Pinson Road. They are collecting non-perishable food items and are also selling “scan coupons” in amounts of $1 and $5 to raise money for the Lions Club who will be delivering food to the Angel Tree families. Customers can also support the drive by dropping off individual nonperishable products or purchasing a pre-assembled “grab-bag” full of Food Club items. All extra food will go to the Forney Food Pantry. The food drive lasts until December 19.
