What goes great with delicious Lazy J coffee? Well anything really, but especially baked goods from Yum-Yum Bakery. Forney's Lazy J Coffee, located at 571 South FM 548, has teamed up with Yum-Yum Bakery and will soon be offering customers a display case full of delicious bake goods to pair with their coffee drinks.

Mathew and Taylor Richards created inForney.com to help Forney residents stay connected with each other and informed about what is happening in our community. Holding monthly meet and greets is a great way for inForney.com members to get to know each other. For the week of March 12-17 there will be three special get-togethers to show support for the Kickapoo Trace Center businesses who are dealing with a major intersection closure during spring break.

Mathew Richards said, “We come to the Kickapoo Trace businesses so much already that we have built a bond and friendship with them. We want to do our part to bring customers out there. Any little bit will help, especially during the time the intersection at FM 548 and FM 741 is closed.”

It finally happened. The entire intersection at FM 548 and FM 741 in Forney was closed down as of 5:10 p.m. on Friday March 9, 2012. The closure is expected to last until March 19 when FISD schools reopen after spring break.

Four Forney police officers assisted in detouring traffic as the road construction crew quickly set up barricades. It was fortunate that the FPD officers were on scene because the construction crew was attempting to set up the barricades in such a manner that they would have completely blocked off access to the Kickapoo Trace Center. The crew insisted that they needed more room to work, but police quickly explained that blocking the entrance to the businesses was not an option.
