Haughey said his family and its needs have outgrown their home in the city of Forney, they will still be in the Forney community, just outside the city limits.
Brian Haughey also served as the City of Forney Bond Committee Chairman in 2006, was the President and Treasurer of the Forney Area United Way, and served on the Planning and Zoning Commission in Mesquite before moving to Forney.
The City Council members, Mayor Rozell, and City Manager Brian Brooks all gave praise to Brian's dedication to his family and his commitment to putting his family first. Haughey was given a standing ovation from the many attendees of the June 19th City Council meeting.
Applications will now be accepted for Place 2 of the Forney City Council. The applications will be due by 5:00 p.m. on June 29th, 2012. Applications can be mailed to P.O. The Forney City Council and Mayor will be responsible for appointing a person to Place 2 of the Forney City Council. All applicants will be interviewed by the council and a decision must be made within 30 days.
