This year’s event holds special significance as it will also host the U.S. Collegiate National Team Trials on Sunday. Athletes will compete for an opportunity to represent the United States in Germany this summer, adding a competitive edge to an already esteemed tournament. The Mayor of Forney is expected to attend, further highlighting the importance of this event for the local community.
Forney's own Seung-Hyun Lee, the owner of Master Lee’s Taekwondo, will be the 2025 Texas State Taekwondo Association Tournament Director.
In preparation for the tournament, the organizers are calling for volunteers and business sponsors to help ensure its success. "I believe that an individual’s honor comes after the organization, the organization after the state, and the state after the nation," said a tournament representative. "That’s why I am working hard to make this event a success—not for myself, but for the entire Texas taekwondo community."
Currently, about 50 volunteers have signed up, thanks to the support of taekwondo parents and various association dojangs. The organizers express gratitude for the efforts thus far and encourage more individuals to join the cause to make this tournament a memorable experience for everyone involved.
