FORNEY, TX — The Forney High School Wind Ensemble has earned a rare and prestigious invitation to perform at the 79th Annual Midwest Clinic and Convention, set for December 2025 in Chicago. Founded in 1946, the Midwest Clinic is one of the world’s most renowned music education conferences, drawing more than 18,000 attendees from all 50 states and over 30 countries.
Selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants, Forney’s ensemble was one of only five high school groups chosen globally. Their selection followed a rigorous application process that included two professionally recorded performances and a comprehensive portfolio.
This honor adds to a growing legacy of excellence for Forney High School’s music program. Past achievements include repeated appearances in the 5A State Marching Championship Finals, an invitation to the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), participation in the Midwest Percussion Ensemble, and a historic debut in the 6A State Marching Championship.
“This invitation to the Midwest Clinic is a remarkable accomplishment,” said Mario Luna, Forney ISD Director of Fine Arts. “It highlights the dedication to artistic excellence that defines our community and the outstanding achievements of our students and staff.”
The selection reflects the combined efforts of students, directors, parents, teachers, and administrators across Forney ISD, and underscores the district’s steadfast commitment to arts education.
