Another Terrell pilot died this month after his 1968 single-engine Cessna crashed in southeastern Oklahoma. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 54-year-old Stephen Mark Hardin of Terrell was found Saturday morning in northern Pushmataha County.
On Friday, October 18, 2013, Hardin departed an airport near Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in his plane and was flying back to Terrell, Texas, before the crash. According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol news release, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol was asked to join the search for the plane after it failed to arrive in Terrell.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) located Hardin's plane from the air in a heavily wooded area southwest of Sardis Lake, approximately two hours south of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, on Friday. The OHP was unable to reach the crash site until Saturday morning due to inclement weather and road conditions.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Mark Hardin, as he's known in Terrell, was the only person on board the plane when it crashed.

Mark and his wife, Melissa, own Terrell Aviation Inc. which serves the Terrell Municipal Airport as the fixed-base operator (FBO).

“With profound shock and sadness the No.1 BFTS Museum received the news of the sudden death of our dear friend Mark Hardin,” a statement reads on the Number 1 British Flying Training School's Facebook page. “Mark and his wife Melissa have been instrumental in the planning and implementation of the annual Fly-In, as well as supervising the Miss Pauline Project, and providing fly-overs for services. He will be truly missed.”

On October 4, 2013, Jim and Lisa Parrish of Terrell, Texas, were killed in a plane crash near Paulden, Arizona.
