Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed Against Trevor McEuen

FORNEY, TX — The family of Aaron Martinez, a 35-year-old electrician and aspiring rancher, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Kaufman County, alleging he was murdered in a racially motivated attack after years of harassment by his neighbors.

Filed on March 17, 2025, by Priscilla Martinez—Aaron’s widow—the suit names Trevor Rhey McEuen and other family members as defendants. The lawsuit seeks over $1 million in damages and claims that the fatal shooting of Aaron Martinez was part of an ongoing campaign of racial intimidation against the Hispanic family.

According to the Plaintiff’s Original Petition filed in the 422nd District Court of Kaufman County, “From the moment the Martinez family moved to Forney, Defendant Trevor Rhey McEuen… engaged in a pattern of harassment, intimidation, and discriminatory behavior toward Aaron Martinez and his family.”

The lawsuit further claims that “Despite multiple complaints filed by Aaron Martinez and his family regarding Trevor Rhey McEuen's threatening behavior, and additional safeguards taken by Aaron Martinez, the defendants continued to harass the Martinez family.” On May 1, 2023, the lawsuit alleges that Aaron Martinez was shot approximately 30 times in what the lawsuit describes as an “execution-style murder.”

The civil suit outlines several causes of action, including:

The plaintiffs have requested a jury trial and are seeking monetary damages for mental anguish, loss of companionship, funeral costs, lost income, and exemplary damages intended to punish egregious conduct.
